Christie Kent, MPl, MCIP, RPP

Christie joined the Education division in 2023 with 10 years of experience in municipal government and school board administration.  She provides expertise in the areas of student accommodation and capital planning, business case development, and municipal relations.  Prior to joining Watson, Christie was a Planner with the Waterloo Region District School Board and the Thames Valley District School Board.  She is particularly interested in rural and small to mid-size communities and has worked in various planning roles in municipalities across Western Canada and Southwestern Ontario.

Christie holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Honours Planning) degree from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Planning (Rural Planning and Development) degree from the University of Guelph.  She is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Administration (Local Government) program at the University of Western Ontario.  Christie is a Registered Professional Planner and active member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.

Christie resides in Elgin County.  She and her family can often be found exploring nearby beaches and trails.
